Strength of the People, Strength of the Culture: A Q&A with Marley Chatuye Nunez

6:00 pm

Join us for the first event in our new Dimensions of Wellness series, where we explore different aspects of well-being—from emotional to financial to cultural health.

This opening session focuses on Cultural Wellness, featuring a Q&A with Garifuna rights activist Marley Chatuye Nunez, moderated by community projects coordinator Johnelle (Star) Carcamo.

We’ll explore how the health of the Garifuna culture and the well-being of Garifuna people are deeply interconnected. Marley will share his perspectives on cultural strength, community identity, and what it means to actively build and sustain the health of a living, evolving culture.

All are welcome to join this thoughtful and community-centered conversation.

Clothing Swap & Gift Exchange

4 :30 pm to 6:30 pm

Join us for a fun, free community clothing swap. Bring your gently used clothes and trade with others. Everyone is welcome, and even if you don’t have items to exchange, you’re still invited to take what you love.

We’re also doing an optional fun holiday gift exchange game: bring one wrapped gift valued at $20 BZ or less if you’d like to participate.

Come early, bring a bag, and help give great pieces a second life.
