Meet Our Team

  • Amanda

    Amanda is the founder of Movement Center. She loves working with the Hopkins community to promote wellness and strengthen community well-being through events like Hopkins Wellness Day and special programs at Movement Center. Amanda has shaped the center into a welcoming space where all kinds of people can gather for movement, connection, and support. She co-leads Kids Hour on Wednesdays, a playful class for children ages 3–9 that combines yoga, mindfulness, and group games. Amanda has lived in Hopkins since 2016, and she is devoted to her adopted home and beloved Hopkins community. After experiencing the emotional and healing effects of group movement classes, Amanda decided to build Movement Center to give back to the village that has given so much sustenance and support over the past decade.

  • Anselma

    Anselma is the Facilities Manager at Movement Center. She keeps the space clean, stocked, and in good repair, making sure everything is ready for classes, events, and community gatherings. Her care and attention create a welcoming environment where everyone can focus on wellness and connection. Anselma is a lifelong Hopkinsite, and she often brings her junior facilities manager to help keep the Center in good shape.

  • Ashanti

    Ashanti is the Membership Manager at Movement Center and plays a key role in supporting both members and instructors. She runs the member program and keeps the center’s administration running smoothly, helping ensure that everyone feels welcome, supported, and connected. Ashanti brings several years of management experience to her role. Her organizational skills and warmth are a huge part of the Center’s success.

  • Isieni

    Isieni teaches Yin Yoga and Beginner’s Yoga at Movement Center. Her classes provide a welcoming space for students to slow down, release tension, and build a steady foundation for their practice. With a focus on accessibility and mindful movement, Isieni supports students at every level as they explore balance, relaxation, and body awareness. She is a passionate advocate for yoga and mindfulness, and is one of the organizers of the annual International Day of Yoga celebration. Isieni also has her own line of body care products and is a massage therapist specializing in foot reflexology. She is a certified yoga instructor.

  • Kelly

    Kelly teaches several classes at Movement Center. On Wednesdays she co-leads Kids’ Hour, introducing children ages 3–9 to yoga, mindfulness, and playful group games. Later that day she guides Yoga Nidra, a restorative practice that brings deep relaxation through breath and visualization. On Saturdays, her Slow Burn Yoga challenges students with strength-driven sequences and longer holds that build steadiness and resilience. Kelly is a certified yoga instructor, known for her innovative flows and enjoyably challenging classes. Kelly leads yoga retreats in Belize and other Latin American locations.

  • Kristin

    Kristin guides Breathwork on Tuesday mornings, creating a space to calm the mind and body through simple, effective breathing techniques. Her practice supports nervous system regulation, reduces stress, and helps students restore balance and resilience for daily life. Kristin is the co-owner of Rainy Day Cafe (opening fall 2025), a talented crochet artist, and a volunteer with Hopkins Wellness Day.

  • LJ

    LJ brings energy and intention to EmBody Yoga Flow on Thursday mornings. LJ’s slow, steady sequences are designed to awaken both body and nervous system, weaving movement and breath into a mindful practice that welcomes beginners and seasoned yogis alike. LJ’s classes invite students of all levels to reconnect with their bodies through breath, movement, and play. Her own decade-long practice supported her healing journey through life’s upheavals, grounding her both spiritually and physically. As a teacher, she shares the joy of exploring movement with childlike wonder while staying rooted in yoga’s spiritual traditions. She teaches all levels of flow and welcomes every student to join, believing that the body knows if only we learn how to listen. LJ is a Registered Yoga Teacher (200hr RYT).

  • Marcia

    Marcia leads Gentle Yoga for EVERY Body, offered on both Mondays and Fridays at 4:30 PM. With supportive props and slow, mindful movements, she makes yoga accessible for everyone. Her teaching centers on posture, balance, breath and awareness in foundational yoga asanas, helping students release tension and feel at ease in both body and mind. Her classes are suitable for people with varying levels of physical ability, and she is excellent at offering adjustments and modifications to meet every body where they are at. Marcia is a certified yoga instructor. She also owns a guest house in Hopkins in Movement Center’s neighborhood.

  • Maya

    Maya leads Guided Meditation on Thursday evenings, offering journeys that quiet the mind, open the heart, and connect students with the wisdom of the soul. Her classes invite deep healing, release, and spiritual connection, supporting those who seek clarity, renewal, and empowerment. Maya is an animal communicator and telepath. She assists people with connecting to pets, ancestors, and spirit guides through online and in-person sessions. Maya loves music and plays bass guitar.

  • Rodra

    Rodra teaches Pilates at Movement Center, guiding students through mindful, strength-based movement designed to build core stability, improve posture, and enhance overall body awareness. Her classes create a supportive space for developing both strength and balance. In addition to her passion for dance and fitness, Rodra is an artist with her own shop, Rodra’s Room. She is an active volunteer in the Hopkins community, including helping to organize Hopkins Wellness Day.

  • Tasha

    Tasha offers Community Acupuncture on Tuesday afternoons, making this healing practice more accessible by treating participants together in a shared space. Her sessions address a wide range of concerns—from pain and stress to sleep and digestion—and are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis so no one is turned away. Tasha’s practice, Jungle Acupuncture, serves clients in the Hopkins area and beyond. She has become well-known for her healing skills, and demand for her services has been steadily growing beyond our village. Tasha is committed to giving back to her local community. In addition to Tuesday’s acupuncture sessions, Tasha is a frequent volunteer for local causes, including Hopkins Wellness Day.
